The law office of Schwam-Wilcox & Associates cares deeply about giving back to our community; one of the many ways that we do this is by being involved and supporting organizations that “give back.” Being a member of the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers (CFAWL) gives me an opportunity to be involved in these type of events. This year I was honored to be a part of the committee that organized and ran the 2018 Auction for Action event held on June 20th, 2018 at the Ace Café in Downtown Orlando. The purpose of this event was to raise funds for the Orange County Courthouse daycare, A Place for Children; which is a licensed drop-in child care center for children whose families have business at the courthouse. A courtroom is not for children, especially if their parents are going through a domestic issue. Not only is a courtroom not appropriate for the children, it can be scary and distracting to the Judge and the attorneys. I am proud to share that this year’s event raised over $9,000.00 which will be donated to A Place For Children!

Auction for Action is open to the public, so hopefully next year you and your organization can attend and sponsor. Camy B. Schwam-Wilcox, is also a member who sits on the Board for CFAWL.
